Crazy Educators Sign Petition to Support Ayers

October 22, 2008

The title says it all. Over 3000 educators decided to sign a petition to oppose the “demonization of Professor William Ayers” and express their support for him ( Source ). An excerpt from the petition reads:

The current characterizations of Professor Ayers—“unrepentant terrorist,” “lunatic leftist”—are unrecognizable to those who know or work with him.

( Source )

Uh…what? They didn’t know that Ayers, a former member of a Communist terrorist group, is an “unrepentant terrorist” and a “lunatic leftist?”

“Unrepentant terrorist” and “lunatic leftist?” Check! And just a little more to add on the “lunatic leftist” point:

Yes, that’s him standing on an American flag. Oh, but that’s not all. Then he shakes his groove thing on it:

And these educators say these descriptions are “unrecognizable” to them? What? I thought they were supposed to be “educated.”

It gets worse…the petition goes on to say:

The current attacks appear as part of a pattern of “exposés” and assaults designed to intimidate free thinking and stifle critical dialogue.

So calling an unrepentant terrorist and lunatic leftist an “unrepentant terrorist” and “lunatic leftist” is meant to intimidate free thinking? Apparently these educators are against educating. And how exactly is this an assault on critical dialogue? There is dialogue going on, and it is critical of Ayers. It’s “critical dialogue.” Don’t you love how insane liberals like these assault us for expressing our opinions, and claim that we are the ones repressing free thinking? I, on the other hand, am absolutely delighted that they so publicly express their opinions. It lets everyone know what nuts they are.

Finally, what kind of morons would sign a petition like this anyway? How about Ward Churchill, who wrote an essay justifying and defending the September 11th attacks and saying those that died in the attacks were fair targets deserving of their fate ( Source ). Or, for instance, Rashid Khalidi, former director of the terrorist Palestinian Liberation Organization’s press agency ( Source ). Oh, I see…supporters of terrorism. I guess it makes sense then.

Biden Says Electing Obama Would Cause International Crisis

October 22, 2008

I guess this is why they call him the “Gaffe Machine,” but what he says is probably true anyway. This is what he had to say about an Obama presidency:

“Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking,” Biden said.

“Remember I said it standing here. if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy. And he’s gonna have to make some really tough — I don’t know what the decision’s gonna be, but I promise you it will occur. As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you it’s gonna happen,” Biden continued.

( Source )

Now why would anyone test the courage or fortitude of Barack Obama? Maybe because he hasn’t proven that he has any. Does our country really need a president that for all we know may not have the necessary qualities to deal with such problems? Do we really need a president who the mischief-makers of the world view as someone they can play games with to see what all they can get away with? Obama’s not ready to deal with these problems, but I assure you (as does Biden) that the problem-causers are more than ready to deal with Obama. Don’t believe me? Ask the terrorist group Hamas. They endorsed him ( Source )!

Obama’s Gestapo Strikes TV News Station?

October 12, 2008

Remember that blog I posted about two weeks ago about the Barack Obama Truth Squad in Missouri ( Link )? Here’s the video from St. Louis’s KMOV News 4’s web site as it originally appeared:

The description that appeared beside the video at the time read something to the effect of “Barack Obama’s campaign recruits Missouri law enforcement officials to target anyone who lies or runs misleading tv ads about him.” Don’t quote me on that, but it basically said about the same thing that the newscaster says at the beginning of the video.

Of course, this story received a lot of negative attention from conservatives, such as Little Green Footballs, Rush Limbaugh, and here on my own blog. As a result, it seems the Obama Gestapo has censored KMOV News 4. The video that appears on their web site now cuts out the intro to the news story that gives the segment a negative, First-Amendment-violating tone ( Source ). The description for the video has also been changed to read, “The Barack Obama campaign is getting help from local prosecutors, both Democrats, to clarify TV ads the campaign believes are misleading.” Doesn’t that just make it sound so much more noble? To add to that, the date for the news story still reads September 23, 2008. There is no mention of an update being made.

I guess the Barack Obama Truth Squad is working! And it’s for the worse, as was expected.

Obama, ACORN, and Voter Registration Fraud

October 11, 2008

Many details of voter registration fraud on the part of employees of ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) have come to light this week. On Tuesday, October 7th, authorities raided ACORN’s Las Vegas office due to the submission of falsified voter registration information ( Source ). The forms used fake names, false addresses, duplicates of previously submitted applications, and even the names of the Dallas Cowboys starting lineup. As of Tuesday, this was not the only investigation into ACORN’s fraudulent activities. There were investigations into voter registration fraud on the part of ACORN workers in nine other states: Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin ( Source ). In case you didn’t notice, those are all swing states.

FoxNews.com ran a story on Wednesday providing some details into the investigation in Missouri, reporting that so far over 800 forms submitted by ACORN had been found to be potentially fraudulent…and that’s only in one county!!! ( Source ). The article also reported that ACORN workers tried to register a 12-year old.

Then, on Thursday, a story ran reporting the claims by two Ohio voters that they had been harassed continually by ACORN workers to register to vote multiple times. One of these voters was Christopher Barkley:

“I kept getting approached by folks who asked me to register,” Barkley said. “They’d ask me if I was registered. I’d say yes, and they’d ask me to do it [register] again.

“Some of them were getting paid to collect names. That was their sob story, and I bought it,” he said.

( Source )

The other, Lateala Goins:

“You can tell them you’re registered as many times as you want – they do not care,” said Lateala Goins, 21, who was subpoenaed.

“They will follow you to the buses, they will follow you home, it does not matter,” she told The Post.

( Source )

This year isn’t the first time that ACORN workers have been involved with voter registration fraud. RottenAcorn.com lists cases from 14 states dating back to 1998. The web site also provides an excellent 30-page PDF-format report, detailing ACORN’s shady history including cases of voter registration fraud with citations ( Link ). FoxNews.com also mentioned a previous case of voter registration fraud that occurred in 2006 when ACORN in Washington state turned in about 1,800 voter registration forms, of which only six were legitimate ( Source ).

Now that I’ve covered ACORN’s extensive history of voter registration fraud, it is time to discuss Barack Obama’s connection to ACORN in relation to these voter registration drives and get-out-the-vote projects. As reported by Stanley Kurtz in the New York Post, ACORN partnered with Obama on his Project VOTE registration drive in 1992 ( Source ). You may be thinking, “What’s the significance of this? You haven’t cited any cases of ACORN voter registration fraud that far back.” Well it’s apparently significant enough for Obama to deny it. From his “Fight the Smears” web site:

Fact: ACORN was not part of Project Vote, the successful voter registration drive Barack ran in 1992.

( Source )

So Stanley Kurtz is lying? Not so fast…note this comment made by Obama at a November 2007 meeting with ACORN leaders as reported by an Obama supporter’s blog featured on Obama’s own campaign site:

Senator Obama said, “I come out of a grassroots organizing background. That’s what I did for three and half years before I went to law school. That’s the reason I moved to Chicago was to organize. So this is something that I know personally, the work you do, the importance of it. I’ve been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.”

( Source )

Catch that last part? In Obama’s own words, ACORN was “smack dab in the middle of” his Project Vote registration drive. It should really be no surprise because, as you can gather from the sources I’ve provided, Project Vote and ACORN regularly work together. Not only that, but Obama proudly proclaims that he’s been fighting alongside ACORN his entire career. Stanley Kurtz isn’t lying…Obama is.

But that’s not all. As the same blog reports, ACORN officially endorsed Barack Obama for president on February 20th, 2008. Almost with no hesitation, from February 25th to May 17th, the Obama campaign paid $832,598.29 to Citizens Services Inc., a subsidiary of ACORN ( Source ). Though the activities of Citizens Services Inc. were originally misreported in the campaign’s FEC reports, they were amended later to correctly show that the organization specializes in get-out-the-vote projects.

Here we are dealing with two damning issues for the Obama campaign. First, Obama has a long history with ACORN (one that I’ve barely touched on here, but that Obama happily admitted to). This is an organization that has a long history of voter registration fraud. Despite that, Obama has continued to work with them and made the poor decision to give their subsidiary get-out-the-vote organization well over $800,000 for their services. Maybe he’s counting on the pro-Obama organization’s reputation for voter registration fraud to lead to voter fraud to get him elected?

Secondly, when confronted with his clear associations with the organization, Obama downplays them and boldly lies about certain aspects. Why? Because he knows that these represent incredibly bad decisions on his part, and possibly that his dealings with them have been as shady as the organization itself.

With that said, two of the most common attacks against President Bush are that he stole the 2000 election and that he is a liar. With all of the facts out there and that I’ve cited here, are those people prepared to vote for Obama? Sadly, yes. We can only hope that those undecided voters will open their eyes to what is going on around them and make the wise decision to do what they can to keep Barack Obama out of the White House.

The 2nd Presidential Debate…More of the Same

October 7, 2008

I have to admit I was pretty disappointed with tonight’s debate. After it ended, I couldn’t quite place what it was about it that made it so uninteresting. Then Bill Kristol made the point on Fox News that the questions weren’t really personalized for the most part and addressed issues that we’ve already heard all about. The answers to the questions tonight were really no different than the answers we heard in the last debate and really no different from the campaign talking points that we hear all the time. That really summed it up perfectly. Neither candidate really threw any good punches…either that or the ones they threw were ones we’ve heard already along with their comebacks, and thus did not resonate.

And unfortunately for us on the McCain/Palin side, Obama seemed to perform much better than he did in the first debate. There was not as much stuttering, he didn’t seem as anxious, and he properly referred to McCain as “Senator McCain” instead of “John” (except for on one occassion). Of course, as I said, just about everything he said was recycled, but the mentioned improvements gave him somewhat of an edge. To add to that, Obama said something I agreed with for a change. When McCain criticized his lack of experience, Obama responded:

Well, you know, Sen. McCain, in the last debate and today, again, suggested that I don’t understand. It’s true.

( Source -> )

Ok, so I took it completely out of context by leaving out the rest of his response…but really, it’s more accurate this way.

Who won this debate really just comes down to whose principles you agree with, because I think it was a tie as far as performance and communication of these principles went. Hopefully the third debate next week can give us some new material and a chance to really get in some good jabs.

Obama Criticizes McCain for Personal Attacks, Responds With Personal Attack Onslaught

October 7, 2008

If you’ve been watching the news for the past few days, you know that the McCain campaign has become more aggressive and is now criticizing Obama for his connections to domestic terrorist William Ayers. Of course, the Obama campaign was not too happy about that:

Sen. Barack Obama said today that, while his rival John McCain seeks to “distract you with smears” and “Swift Boat-style attacks” in the last weeks of the campaign, he would keep focused on economic issues and what he described as McCain’s shortcomings.

( Source -> )

Curiously, around the same time that Obama tried to portray himself as one who was taking the moral high road, his campaign released an ad, a documentary, and launched a web site (link) smearing McCain for his connections to the Keating Five scandal ( Source ). I guess Obama figured that since the Keating Five scandal was related to economic issues, he could pass off this obvious and massive smear campaign as a legitimate focus on economics rather than an exercise in blatant hypocrisy.

Now for a little background on the Keating Five scandal. Charles H. Keating, Jr. was the chairman of the Lincoln Savings and Loan Association that collapsed in 1989. Lincoln had earlier been the subject of a regulatory investigation that five senators, McCain included, were accused of having inappropriately intervened in. These senators became the subject of an investigation by the Senate Ethics Committee.

McCain, who had been friends with Keating since 1981 and had received numerous political contributions from him, did indeed meet with regulators on Keating’s behalf. One of the regulators, William Black, took detailed notes during the second meeting with the senators, which stated that McCain made the following comments:

“One of our jobs as elected officials is to help constituents in a proper fashion,” McCain said. “ACC (American Continental Corp.) is a big employer and important to the local economy. I wouldn’t want any special favors for them. . . .

“I don’t want any part of our conversation to be improper.”

( Source -> )

McCain said later that he was only there to ensure that Lincoln Savings and Loan was treated fairly. Once he found out about the criminal referral being made against Lincoln, McCain cut ties with Keating. The Senate Ethics Committee determined that no action should be taken against Senator McCain. An excerpt from their statement:

Based on the evidence available to it, the committee has given consideration to Senator McCain’s actions on behalf of Lincoln Savings and Loan Association. The committee concludes that Senator McCain’s actions were not improper nor attended with gross negligence and did not reach the level of requiring institutional action against him. The committee finds that Senator McCain took no further action after the April 9, 1987, meeting when he learned of the criminal referral.

Senator McCain has violated no law of the United States or specific Rule of the United States Senate; therefore, the committee concludes that no further action is warranted with respect to Senator McCain on the matters investigated during the preliminary inquiry.

( Source -> )

Robert Bennett, the Democrat who served as special counsel to the Senate Ethics Committee, now says that McCain should never have been included in the investigation in the first place ( Source ). On top of that, McCain has expressed regret for his actions as well:

“The appearance of it was wrong,” McCain said. “It’s a wrong appearance when a group of senators appear in a meeting with a group of regulators because it conveys the impression of undue and improper influence. And it was the wrong thing to do.”

( Source -> )

So now let’s take a look at the facts. Barack Obama is attacking John McCain for his involvement in the Keating Five scandal. But McCain was long ago exonerated of any wrongdoing in the matter, and the Democratic special counsel to the ethics committee says he should never have been investigated in the first place. Despite all this, McCain still takes responsibility for the appearance of his actions and regrets doing what he did. This amounts to nothing more than a smear campaign against McCain by the Obama campaign. The fact that Obama is bashing McCain for his personal attacks while simultaneously leading this smear onslaught against him just makes this even more despicable.

But what about William Ayers? Is associating him with Barack Obama fair? For anyone who doesn’t know who he is, here’s a bit about him:

Ayers, 63, spent 10 years as a fugitive in the 1970s when he was part of the “Weather Underground,” an anti-Vietnam War group that protested U.S. policies by bombing the Pentagon, U.S. Capitol and a string of other government buildings.

( Source -> )

His wife, Bernadine Dohrn, was also a member of the terrorist group. Both of them in written and television interviews have indicated that they do not regret what they did and wish they had done more. This family is a class act, right? Perhaps the most condemning connection to Obama, which is mentioned in the article I cited above, is the party that Ayers and Dohrn hosted for him in their home at the beginning of his political career to introduce him to the neighborhood. You have to think…what does it say about a man who is going to associate himself with proud anti-American terrorists? I know I would never give Ayers or Dohrn the time of day, whether it was simply acknowledging them in a friendly manner or serving on a board or on a panel at a university with one of them (as Obama did with Ayers). Why would Obama do this?

One possibility is that he agrees with the radical terrorist acts they committed. I certainly hope not. Another possibility would be that he is apathetic about it. In other words, maybe he doesn’t care about the horrible things they have done and was more worried about his political career. And a final possibility is that he is appalled by their terrorist acts but decided that advancing his political career was more important to him than his principles.  But that explanation wouldn’t make much sense, would it?  If he deemed his political career more important, then he wouldn’t have any upstanding principles.  It would seem that the only explanations are that he agrees with the terrorist acts they committed or that he was too politically ambitious to care about standing up for what was right.

Obama is still not open and honest about the aspects of his relationship with Ayers, dismissing any references to it as smears or irrelevant, and has yet to apologize for his associations with him and Dohrn.  Is attacking Obama for these associations fair?  Of course it is.  And if we have to, maybe we can disguise our personal attacks as a focus on economic issues as the Obama campaign does.  How about this?  Ayers was a member of a Communist terrorist group and to this day is proud of what he did.  Obama was associated with him.  Does Obama want to change our economy from capitalist to communist?  You know, that question wouldn’t really be that far out there considering the socialist agenda that liberals like him tend to pursue.

Perhaps a Scarier Obama Youth Video

October 6, 2008

These are 8th and 9th graders from the Urban Community Leadership Academy in Kansas City, MO ( Source ). The superintendent of this charter school, Joyce McGautha has suspended the teacher responsible for the video and is threatening legal action against him as well. Sadly, the superintendent admits to having known about the video ahead of time and is only taking action against the teacher now because he posted the video on the internet. If you ask me, someone needs to take legal action against the superintendent as well.

This is just another example of indoctrination, and this time at the expense of taxpayers. It is perhaps scarier because of the militaristic nature of the video, which makes it much more reminiscent of Nazi and Communist indoctrination of youth.
